The 4-Wheeler's Out!!!

I had to mow the lawn while my husband was out of town. No big deal, I've done this plenty of times before, and I sort of enjoy it. We have a riding lawn mower, so it's easy and kind of fun. Our lawn mower is in the shed. So is my 4-wheeler. I have to move my 4-wheeler to get the lawn mower out. Now you have the background.

A family recently moved in next door to us. Single mom with 5 kids (4 of them are boys). I think the ages are 16, 14, 11, 7, and 4 or something like that. So the 7 year old and the 4 year old were outside playing when I went out to mow. Actually, first I was moving some firewood from the driveway to the stack behind the garage. But, I finished that and really needed to mow. I couldn't wait any longer. So, I moved the 4-wheeler out of the way.

As soon as I did, the 4 year old said "Ashton, Ashton, the 4-wheeler's out!!!"

Now, Ashton has asked many times already if he could have a ride on the 4-wheeler. We have said no because we don't want that kind of thing to start. It has gotten annoying already even. Ashton has even asked to just "sit on the 4-wheeler" and to that we've also said no. But, they get excited every time the 4-wheelers are out. So, I told them I wasn't going to ride it, I just needed to move it so I could mow. I told them I'd hurry so it wasn't loud for a long time and they could get back to playing. They just looked at me. Didn't say a word. The disappointment made them speechless I guess.

And, the little one thinks my name is Billy. I saw him outside while I was re-stacking wood behind the shed. I said "Hi, what's your name?" "Brayden." "My name's Mandy." Then it started raining so I said "Brayden, it's raining. You should probably go inside." "OK, bye Billy." Um, yeah, bye. My brother explained that there is a cartoon with characters named Mandy and Billy, and he must've just associated my name with the cartoon and then picked wrong when it came time to use it in conversation.

Pretty cute, but you still can't ride my 4-wheeler.
