Pet Peeves

This happens to me all the time. I'm driving along and someone stops at a stopsign on a road that crosses the road I'm on. They look both ways, see that I'm coming, and pull out anyway. Invariably, they aren't going far. They usually don't even get up to the speed limit before slowing down again and turning off the road. So, I slow down for them twice.

I guess they think that since they aren't going to use that part of road for very long, that I wouldn't mind if they cut in front of me. Sort of like someone who only has 2 items in the line at the grocery store. I don't mind that. But, really, is it necessary to pull out in front of someone? Why couldn't they just wait until I pass by before doing their little dawdling jaunt?

I also don't like it when people stop right in the middle of the aisle or flow of traffic in a mall or festival or something. I think it boils down to the fact that I don't like people getting in my way. I'm doing my own thing, going someplace, and I don't want to have to change what I'm doing, or change my path for someone - unless I choose to of course. Now, it's not all about me, I realize that; but it's also not all about you. I'm not invisible, although it feels like it sometimes, so, if this sounds like what you do and you see me coming, wait your turn. And pay attention. That's really all I ask. Thanks.

  1. When this happens to me I sometimes like to imagine that I have super powers and I can make their heads blow up. It's sort of like going to my happy place, except messier.

Also, yeah! Mandy has a blog!
