It has been super windy recently. Last night especially was unreal. This morning I went outside expecting to find lots of little sticks and maybe even a couple of limbs down from our trees. We have very weak trees.
I did find many little sticks, but what made my heart skip a beat was the bird's nest that was down in our driveway. Now I know this is most likely the same bird that poops on our cars all the time, but I was sad thinking that the babies didn't make it. I didn't look too closely, but I didn't see any movement and no evidence that the babies were still in it when it fell. Either they were big enough to fly away, or little enough to be eaten by our neighbor's cat sometime during the night. I'm going with the first option.
Speaking of trees, with the wind came rain, so I haven't had to worry about watering the trees we planted. However, I sort of wanted to because we got a new garden hose that I wanted to use.
*Update* No little birds in the nest - but there were 5 eggs. Smashed on the driveway :-( And I found another downed nest, but no eggs around. Maybe that was an old one.
