Something in the Chimney

I'm working from home today. I was here at the computer, and I heard something. There was definitely something in our wood burning stove. It kept flopping around and it really distracted me, and disturbed me more than a little. So, I got a small trashcan and a big pad of paper with cardboard on the back. I carefully opened the stove, and saw the bird. I put the trashcan up next to the opening, and the thing didn't waste too much time before it went in. I had the doors already open to the back and I slid the cardboard over the opening. I screamed when it tried to get out, but I managed to get out the door with it and I threw it outside. The bird flew up into the tree, so apparently it's fine. My heart hasn't really slowed down any though. That was a little rush of adrenaline. Glad that's over. I vote for the wire mesh to be placed back up around the chimney opening.

Back to my data. I should be able to concentrate now.
